“Breast Plate”
For one university project, I had to create a ceramic piece in response to a poem, my poem being “I’m Nobody! Who are You?” by Emily Dickinson. I interpreted the poem to be about social hollowness, and a refusal to conform to sexist norms, and created a sculpted decorative piece to look like breasts with rotting flesh on a plate, to discuss the thought that women are there to serve men.
